What is TDAP?
TDAP stands for Tourism Digital Assistance Program. Tourism Nova Scotia and Digital Nova Scotia have partnered on two programs that help tourism businesses, organizations, and communities build their digital capacity and get found online. Approved applicants are matched with a qualified digital consultant, and the program covers the cost of the work.
TDAP: for tourism businesses
Up to $5,000 (HST included) in digital services
For tourism businesses, experience providers, and accommodations
You need to be listed on NovaScotia.com and be open, or planning to open, for the tourism season
Short-term rentals need to be registered with the provincial Short-term Rentals Registry
Work needs to be completed by March 31, 2027
TDAP-C
for municipalities and community organizations
Up to $5,000 (HST included) in digital services
For tourism businesses, experience providers, and accommodations
You need to be listed on NovaScotia.com and be open, or planning to open, for the tourism season
Short-term rentals need to be registered with the provincial Short-term Rentals Registry
Work needs to be completed by March 31, 2027
How it works
Apply through Digital Nova Scotia. Be as specific as you can about the services you need.
Your application is reviewed. A panel at Digital Nova Scotia reviews it and may reach out to talk through your goals.
Choose your consultant. If you’re approved, Digital Nova Scotia sends you a list of recommended approved providers, and you pick the one that fits (like me!)
The work begins. Digital Nova Scotia sets up the contract with your consultant.
No invoices for you. Your consultant bills Digital Nova Scotia directly. You submit a final report when the project wraps up.
Already know you want to work with me? Mention Digital Optimist in your application.
A few program rules to know
For TDAP, photography and videography are capped at $3,000, and subscriptions, new technology, and media buys are capped at $1,000. Both come out of your $5,000 total. The program can’t be used only for ad spend.
